"Cruel and inhumane seal hunting is unacceptable and an EU measure is the best way we can help to end it around the world," said Caroline Flint, the minister for Europe.
There is nothing inhumane in Norwegian seal hunting. Norway and Canada will certainly take Brüssel to the World Trade Organisation. There is no doubt that seal hunting is a cruel sight. But that's all there is. It's a decision based on feelings and not reason.
How can we exploit our natural resources now without killing (in a humane way)? It's typical that bureaucrats sit in their offices, without knowing what's going on, are unable to answer that question.
The ban must be illegal! What a myth!
